Problem: I dropped my digital camera into water. Can I repair it?

Solution 1:
DO NOT TURN IT ON!!!!
Now that I have your attention, my advice is DO NOT TURN IT ON! Electronic devices can technically be submerged in water if they are not powered at the time. Remove the battery immediately and leave it to dry. Leave it for as long as you possibly can until you are sure there is no more water inside. Open all the slots and doors you can, remove anything that is removable and just wait. If you are lucky, the camera wasn't powered on at the time and you just have to wait for a few days to let it dry.
If a camera is powered when it comes into contact with the water, it will not work anymore. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.
Problem: Help! I deleted a photo I wanted to keep!

Solution 1:
Make sure you don't take any more photos until you can get the memory card to a computer.
When you take photos, your camera puts the data on a free space on your memory card and writes a little note to itself saying that that little part of the memory card has been used, please don't write other photos on top.
When you delete a photo, all your camera does is delete the little note - therefore saying that the space being used by that photo is no longer reserved and a new photo can go there if you need the space.
SO, if you don't take any more photos, you might still be able to recover a deleted image. Get the memory card to a computer and Google "Photo Recovery Software". There are lots of free ones out there. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.
Solution 1:
If your screen or your camera has been damaged, there may be a few things you can do, but generally speaking, what's done is done. If you have home contents insurance, check to see if you are covered for accidental camera damage.
Screens themselves are usually quite tough but they can be damaged at any time. You might be able to replace the screen but in truth, you're probably better of (a) trying to contact the manufacturer [if it's a new camera], or (b) buying a new one / getting by with the damaged screen [if it's not]. 0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful.

If your camera is under warranty, you should take contact your retailer before you do anything drastic like opening it up!
Back up your photos - download them to a computer or other safe place. Don't leave them on the memory card for too long. Memory cards are not perfect and they can fail after a certain amount of time.
